September 2nd, 2008.
Second day, just before our first road trip, visited a nearby Children’s Discovery Museum, a nice Museum dedicated to Children, and teaching children using fun activities.
There was a fun-filled water play area that teaches the mechanics of water and air pressure, and many other interesting activities to teach classic topics like the invention and uses of the wheel, electricity, to modern topics like video editing tools, and traffic lights. The children at the museum had fun moving from one station to another, and the parents too.
This was followed with a trip to collect some maps and discuss ideas with a friend. Also decided to return two sleeping bags (out of four originally borrowed), in anticipation that we may not need them.
Lunch today was good, visited the WholeFoods Market, recommended by Siok Khoon. Excellent groceries store, great fruits and vegs, as well as other snacks, and a salad bar with great selection to match. We like to pack fruits and small snacks for our road trips, and usually have a great time visiting the local grocery stores. And we especially like fruits, since they’re easier to consume, and keeps the travelers hydrated. Nuts (except peanuts) & seeds are also a favorite. Photos contributed by the boys.
Go check out Trader’s Joe if you have a chance.
